With more than 30 years of training in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido under Grandmaster Chae Teok Goh, Master Somnath Sikdar has advanced to a sixth degree black belt certified by the World Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon). His martial arts knowledge extends to various forms of weapons, self-defense, traditional and sport Tae Kwon Do as well as Hapkido with Grandmaster Han Jae Ji.

Competition wise, Master Sikdar has achieved successes in local, state, and collegiate tournaments. His studies go beyond that though – he keeps up to date on western boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. Academically he is a holder of a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania with minors in Systems Science and Economics. During his academic tenure he was President, Head Instructor and Coach of the UPENN WTF Tae Kwon Do Team.

Currently Master Sikdar continues to coach competitive Taekwondo athletes while managing his role as active advisor for both the UPENN WTFTKD Team and West Chester University Taekwondo Team.
